1 Corinthians 1:18-19
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. (KJV) |

Doing For Others

Michael has no children of his own, by his own choice. Through several orginizations and agencies he actively mentors, teaches, raises funds, and spends time with and for many youngsters. As a member and officer of an international group he helps send hundreds of children to summer camp. Each school year he tutors children at an inner-city school, raises funds for their supplies and other needs. As a director and honored member of Boys and Girls Club of America, Michael has worked to improve the lives of hundreds of less fortunate children. This man works tirelessly and without any monetary rewards doing what God has commissioned us all to do. Ecclesiastes 7:18--Tackle every task that comes along, and if you fear God you can expect his blessing.---Stay on the Jesus road---Joe
An Unexpected God Send

As happens much to often, Robert and Tom had been good friends, lost contact and not seen each other for years. Over the years each of these men had heard things about the other, but never had visited. Tom and his wife visited a church not far from their new home, actually half a block away. When the service ended a lady aproached and asked, are you Tom from SSHS? When Tom answered yes, she replied, I am Roberts sister. She went on to say that Robert was back in the area and did not live too far away. Ann, Robert's sister told Tom she would have Robert call him. Robert called and two days later these old friends, along with Billy and Gene, two other old buddies met for lunch. For over two hours these old men shared stories of long ago. Under God

ISAIAH 1-2 Listen, O heaven and earth, to what the Lord is saying: The children I cared for so long and tenderly have turned against me. Does this sound like what we are experenceing today? The book of Isaiah is history that modern times is repeating. The Lord God established this nation of unlimited resources and blessed us with being allowed to live here. The United States of America, one nation under God with liberty and justice for all. The liberty and justice for all is for those who choose Under God, and In God We Trust. Those who do not choose these two requirements need to read Isiah 1: 24-25, to learn their fate.--- Stay on the Jesus road---Joe
Be Prepared

"Be Prepared", A phrase we have heard all our lives. Scout training revolves around being prepared at all times and under whatever circumstance. The military uses this term in preparing the soulders for any encounter. The last few days the local weather has been ice, snow, and sleet, freezing everything. Getting out of the house or being mobile is nearly impossible. Hopefully everyone affected by this weather was prepared. The most important event we humans can be prepared for is the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. We know not when this will happen, but be assured he is going to return. "Be Prepared". Revelations 22:20 He who has said all these things declaires: Yes, I am coming soon! Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!---Stay on the Jesus road---Joe
Fred Hearn

In 1954 a young man came to SouthSide H/S, he was a 2nd. semester Junior. From January of 54 until May of 55 this fellow set a standard for us all. Outstanding student, athlete, and role model extrordinar. After SSHS this man went on to be the complete husband, father, granddad, and citizen. He was at the top of his field in whatever his undertakings. Over the last fifty years I ran into and knew many people who knew this man, what wonderful things were always said about him. As for myself, I always had the ultimate respect for him, and shared many beautiful Christian e-mails. When God called Fred home, heaven was in need of a mighty angel, whose life on earth had been the example of Christ. This man, Fred Hearn was the ultimate representative of Jesus. I am looking forward to meeting Fred again at the river that flows by the throne of God. colossians 3:17 And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus---Stay on the Jesus road---Joe
